These indicators reflect efforts made to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in the atmosphere. The clock is committed to transparency and publicity regarding positive impact, complementing the <strong>Climate Clock<\/strong>, which serves as a global warming alert with global indicators (there is a physical Climate Clock installed in New York City since September 2020, as well as a digital version on the climateclock.world website and other platforms that have adopted the cause, including B4\u2019s platform). The Climate Clock displays numbers and information that represent the countdown to how much time the world has left to prevent climate change from reaching a catastrophic level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The global panel, translated as the \u201cClimate Clock,\u201d shows how much time is left\u2014in years, days, and hours\u2014before CO2 emissions lead to a 1.5-degree increase in global warming. This figure represents a critical threshold, beyond which there is little that can be done to stop climate change and its severe global consequences. The Climate Clock\u2019s information comes from the <strong>Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change (MCC)<\/strong>, which conducts research related to the atmosphere and oceans. These data point out that if emissions continue at their current accelerated pace, the planet will soon reach a critical heat level. The clock thus serves as an alert for people to visualize the consequences of global warming and take immediate action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>B4\u2019s Climate Action Clock<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the goal of alerting individuals and companies about the urgent need to address climate change, B4 has launched its own Climate Clock on its platform and is set to announce a physical installation in the coming days. Unlike the Climate Clock, which counts down to when the situation will reach a critical point, B4\u2019s <strong>Climate Action Clock<\/strong> marks time from the launch date of the climate action exchange on <strong>August 16, 2023<\/strong>. In other words, the clock tracks the <strong>regenerative timeline<\/strong> of the positive impact made by companies listed on B4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to this count, the tool also presents <strong>B4\u2019s key indicators<\/strong>, such as the total amount of CO2 being assessed on the platform (currently over <strong>15 million tons<\/strong>), the number of companies applying for listing on B4, the number of companies in the listing process, those approved, and those already validated. The clock also includes data such as the current figure of <strong>1,800 companies<\/strong> undergoing carbon footprint inventory processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cToday, around <strong>5,000 companies<\/strong> emit approximately <strong>25,000 tons of CO2<\/strong> annually\u2014just in Brazil. This contributes to the acceleration of global warming. In this context, B4 was created to build a safe environment that motivates, supports, and maintains companies committed to promoting sustainable practices, reducing their carbon footprint, and contributing to corporate sustainability actions.
